Introduction

K.H.App ("the developer") publishes the app BUILD EMPIRE: Construction ("the app") for iPhone and iPad (App Store) and for Android (Google Play). This policy explains how information is handled in the app. Where the iPhone/iPad and Android versions differ, each section says so. This page covers this app only; the developer's other apps each have their own terms.

In short: the app never receives anything that identifies you — no name, email address, phone number, postal address or date of birth. Text you type inside the game, such as your company name or the names of your buildings, is never sent to the developer either.

1What the developer does not collect

There is no account and no sign-in. The developer does not collect:

2Save data

Your save data — company name, cash, sites, headcount and the rest of your progress — is stored on your device. There is no developer server, and the developer never receives your saves.

iPhone and iPad: so that a new phone or a lost device does not cost you years of progress, a copy is also kept in Apple's iCloud (key-value storage). This is Apple's own mechanism, and the copy is shared only between your own devices signed in to the same Apple ID. The developer cannot read it. If you are not signed in to iCloud, nothing is synced and your save stays on the device alone.

Android: saves stay on your device and iCloud is not used. If Google backup (Android's own backup) is turned on in your device settings, Android stores the app's data in your Google account and restores it to a new device signed in to the same account. This is Google's own mechanism and the developer cannot read it.

Deleting your data: deleting a save from the "Save data" screen on the title screen removes both the file on your device and the copy in iCloud. Uninstalling the app alone may leave the iCloud copy behind, so delete your saves inside the app first if you want everything gone. On Android, a copy left in Google backup can be deleted from your device settings (Google → Backup).

3Advertising (Google AdMob)

When you play for free, the app shows advertising from Google AdMob (Google LLC): a banner at the bottom of the screen, and video adverts you choose to watch.

To serve these adverts, Google may collect the following from your device. It is handled under Google's own privacy policy, and the developer does not receive any of it individually.

Tracking permission (iPhone and iPad): the app shows the iOS App Tracking Transparency prompt. If you choose "Ask App Not to Track", no tracking using the advertising identifier takes place. Your choice makes no difference to the game itself. You can change it at any time under Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

Advertising ID (Android): you can reset or delete the advertising ID at any time under Settings → Privacy → Ads (on some devices, Settings → Google → Ads). Doing so makes no difference to the game.

Buying the one-off Premium upgrade stops adverts being shown at all.

4Analytics (Firebase Analytics)

iPhone and iPad only. The Android version does not use Firebase Analytics and sends none of the events below.

To learn which features are used and where people stop playing — which is how updates get prioritised — the app uses Firebase Analytics (Google LLC). These are the only events sent:

game_startA new company was founded (difficulty, founder trait)
tutorial_doneThe introduction was finished
project_startA job was won (tier; design or construction)
stage_upA stage was reached (month, completed jobs)
store_viewThe store screen was opened
purchasePremium was purchased (no amount, no payment details)
run_endHow a company ended (world number one, bankruptcy…)
session_endThe screen you were on when you closed the app, and your progress
fatal, recovered, jserrorError reports (where processing stopped, a short error message, and the game month), used only to fix bugs

Every one of these consists of numbers and a few fixed words (such as the difficulty name). Nothing you typed is included. They are treated as statistics that do not identify you.

5In-app purchase

The app offers a one-off "Premium" upgrade. Payment is handled by Apple through the App Store on iPhone and iPad, and by Google Play on Android. Card details never reach the developer.

Whether you own the upgrade is determined on your device, using each store's own system (Apple's StoreKit, Google Play Billing). No purchase history is stored on any developer server. With the same Apple ID or Google account you can restore it from "Restore purchase" in the store menu.

6Sharing with third parties

Except where required by law, the developer does not share or sell your information to third parties. Google (AdMob, Firebase Analytics, Google Play, Android backup) and Apple (iCloud, App Store) handle information under their own policies in order to provide those services.

7Children's privacy

The app is suitable for all ages (rated 4+ on the App Store). The developer does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe information about your child has been sent, please contact us at the address below and we will act on it promptly.

8Access and deletion requests

Because the developer holds nothing that identifies you, there is no personal record to hand over. Your save data can be deleted inside the app at any time, as described above. For requests about advertising or analytics data, please contact us below or the relevant company directly.

9Changes to this policy

This policy may be revised as the law or the app changes. Where a change is significant, the date at the top of this page will be updated and the change will also be mentioned in the app's release notes.
