Introduction

K.H.App ("the developer") publishes the iOS app CITY EMPIRE ("the app"). This policy explains how information is handled in the app. This page covers this app only; the developer's other apps each have their own terms.

In short: the app never receives anything that identifies you — no name, email address, phone number, postal address or date of birth. Text you type inside the game, such as your company name, is never sent to the developer either. Usage analytics (Firebase Analytics) are collected in a way that does not identify you (section 4).

1What the developer does not collect

There is no account and no sign-in. The developer does not collect:

2Save data

Your save data — company name, cash, properties, loans, headcount and the rest of your progress — is stored on your device. There is no developer server, and the developer never receives your save.

So that a new phone or a lost device does not cost you your progress, a copy is also kept in Apple's iCloud (key-value storage). This is Apple's own mechanism, and the copy is shared only between your own devices signed in to the same Apple ID. The developer cannot read it. If you are not signed in to iCloud, nothing is synced and your save stays on the device alone.

Erasing your data: choosing "Start over" in Settings (the ⚙ at the top of the screen) discards your current company, and both the save on your device and the copy in iCloud are overwritten with the new company. Uninstalling the app alone may leave the iCloud copy behind.

3Advertising (Google AdMob)

When you play for free, the app shows advertising from Google AdMob (Google LLC): a banner at the bottom of the screen, and rewarded video adverts that you choose to watch. Nothing in the game requires you to watch a video to continue.

To serve these adverts, Google may collect the following from your device. It is handled under Google's own privacy policy, and the developer does not receive any of it individually.

Tracking permission: before the advertising SDK starts, the app shows the iOS App Tracking Transparency prompt. If you choose "Ask App Not to Track", no tracking using the advertising identifier takes place. Your choice makes no difference to the game itself. You can change it at any time under Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

Buying the one-off Premium upgrade removes the banner, and the features that are otherwise unlocked by watching a video work without one.

4Analytics (Firebase Analytics)

To learn which features are used and where people stop playing — which is how updates get prioritised — the app uses Firebase Analytics (Google LLC). These are the only events sent:

game_startStarted a game (difficulty, founder trait)
tutorial_doneFinished the first guide
stage_upMoved up a stage
world_topBecame number one in the world
dev_startOrdered a development (use, how it is paid for)
store_viewOpened the purchase screen (where it was opened from)
purchaseBought Premium (no amount or card details)
run_endA company went bankrupt
session_endThe screen you were on when you closed the app
fatal / jserrorAn unexpected error occurred (where it happened)

Each event also carries your current stage, the in-game month, whether you have Premium, and the difficulty. All of these are numbers and short fixed words. The company or property names you type, and the contents of your save, are never sent. They are treated as statistics that do not identify you. Firebase also records an anonymous per-app identifier, device model, OS, country, language and app launches on its own.

5Game Center (optional)

The app lets you compare records with other players on Apple's Game Center leaderboards. Taking part is optional: the app never asks you to sign in at launch, and the whole game is playable without it.

If you are signed in to Game Center, the app sends only these numbers to Apple's Game Center (on the board for the difficulty you are playing):

AUMYour company's assets under management
EquityYour company's equity
EmployeesYour company's headcount
Market capMarket capitalisation, once listed
Stage 6How many months it took to reach Stage 6

Leaderboards show your Game Center nickname. The company name you chose in the game is not sent. This information is handled under Apple's privacy policy.

6In-app purchase

The app offers a one-off "Premium (Deep mode)" upgrade. All payment is handled by Apple through the App Store. Card details never reach the developer.

Whether you own the upgrade is determined on your device, using Apple's StoreKit. No purchase history is stored on any developer server. On the same Apple ID you can restore it from "Premium" in Settings, using "Restore purchase".

7Sharing with third parties

Except where required by law, the developer does not share or sell your information to third parties. Google (AdMob, Firebase Analytics) and Apple (iCloud, Game Center, App Store) handle information under their own policies in order to provide those services.

8Children's privacy

The developer does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe information about your child has been sent, please contact us at the address below and we will act on it promptly.

9Access and deletion requests

Because the developer holds nothing that identifies you, there is no personal record to hand over. Your save data can be erased inside the app, as described above. For requests about advertising or Game Center data, please contact us below or the relevant company directly.

10Changes to this policy

This policy may be revised as the law or the app changes. Where a change is significant, the date at the top of this page will be updated and the change will also be mentioned in the app's release notes.
